James M. Leahy Sr. (Jimmy) has lived in the surrounding neighborhood all of his life. He graduated from North Allegheny High School. Jimmy's love for a career in the restaurant industry took him to the Johnson & Wales University of Culinary Arts where he graduated in 1975. During the last 38 years Jimmy has been part of the culinary team at numerous fine dining establishments including Chartiers Country Club and the LeMont Restaurant on Mount Washington in Pittsburgh. The entrepreneurial sprit then took hold and on February 1, 2005, Jimmy's Strip District Grille was born. Going into its third year of operations, the future is bright for this fine eating establishment.

In his spare time, Jimmy is an avid outdoor enthusiast. He is the current Officer/Secretary of the Millvale Sportsman's Club; he is a member of the Connquessing Valley Bowman's Club, member of the National Rifle Association, a member/sponsor of the ATV Traction Club and a member of the Mars VFW.
